2023.05.29 Room-Temperature, Solid-State Synthesis of High-Quality Cs3Cu2I5
Thin Films
A new solid-state process that produces smooth Cs3Cu2I5 films with excellent optical properties and occurs at room temperature has been developed by Tokyo Tech researchers. Cs3Cu2I5 is a metal halide phosphor that efficiently emits blue light upon
photoexcitation and finds applicability in deep-UV photodetectors and γ-ray
scintillators. The new method could pave the way for their use in advanced
stacking devices for optical imaging, sensing, and communication.
